Job Description

Ledgent is working with a general contract in Saint Paul adding an Accountant to their team. This role is open due to internal promotions and is meant for more entry-level skillsets (ideally some experience - internships/contracts included).

Direct Hire. $26-$29/hour. On-site in Saint Paul. Flexible Scheduling (Anywhere from 6-8a.m. start)

Details:

  • Assist with routine account reconciliations and financial reviews, helping to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Support recurring financial close activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual processes.
  • Help prepare documentation and schedules for audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
  • Prepare basic journal entries and assist with reviewing general ledger activity.
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving internal controls, ensuring they are followed consistently and adjusted as needed.
  • Assist in documenting and refining accounting procedures to support compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate on ad hoc projects and tasks to support the accounting team's goals.
  • Perform basic financial analysis to help explain trends or variances in the data.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support overall department operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • 1+ year of experience in A/P, A/R, or general accounting (internships and contracts included)
  • Construction Industry (BONUS!)
